The Pre-Prep department is located in a building across the road from the Prep Department. Here your son can enjoy a safe, welcoming environment where he can develop in confidence and independence. We aim to provide a variety of opportunities that will enable your son to thrive within this caring community. Small class sizes ensure that your son’s individual needs are met. Bright, cheerful classrooms and a playground collaboratively designed by staff, parents and pupils encourage creative work and games. The boys prosper through the close cooperation between home and school. From activity-based learning in the Nursery to whole class teaching as they move through the school, the accumulation of core skills is accomplished in a stimulating atmosphere of fun and pride in achievement.
Nursery and Reception
In Nursery and Reception (Shell) we aim to provide an environment which is positive, inclusive and safe. A range of stimulating activities and equipment enable each child to learn through first-hand experience. We recognise that young boys display many characteristics which are special and unique. They are usually lively and curious about the world around them. Thus our learning environment is tailored to boys, offering plenty of action and a hands-on approach to learning.
Year One and Two
Our Key Stage One boys show high levels of independence, curiosity, and concentration.
They are enthusiastic about coming to school and enjoy the detailed educational programmes organised to reflect their varied and imaginative needs.
The class teacher is the appointed key person for the boys’ pastoral welfare and educational progress during their time at Pre-Prep. Classroom assistants support the class teacher in this role.
