Lanesborough Parents' Association
Welcome to the LPA Website
Why do we have a Lanesborough Parents Association?
The Lanesborough Parents Association (LPA) has been an integral part of the school community for many years. In its time the LPA has raised thousands of pounds providing funds for the school and our chosen charities.
But it is much, much more than just fundraising. The LPA exists to provide closer links between home and school, and is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school working towards a common goal.
- To keep you up-to-date with the many and varied Events we organise on your behalf
- Highlight the wonderful fundraising efforts made by parents during recent years and how the LPA Donations are used.
- To inform you of the role of the LPA committee Introduce your LPA Committee Members and how they can be contacted
- Provide guidelines for Form Representatives
- To support the thriving Second Hand Uniform and Skiwear Sales
What do we do?
Throughout the year, the LPA organises a number of events and activities, sometimes to raise funds, whilst providing fun and entertainment for all our families. This would not be possible without the fantastic help of our Sub-Committees and parent volunteers. We have regular LPA committee meetings. These give parents the opportunity to communicate ideas via the Form representatives for raisings and spending LPA funds, supporting future social events and to discuss general school issues.

How do I join the LPA?
As a Lanesborough parent you automatically become a member of the LPA. All members are entitled to vote at the AGM, which is held in October.
The LPA Committee is run by a team of parent volunteers which consists a member from each Form, a Cathedral Chorister parent, Head, Deputy Head, Head of Pre-Prep, Parent Governor, the Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
Every class has an LPA Form representative and are informally agreed within the classes and then formally accepted as representatives. Form Representatives also organise social events for their individual classes each term: coffee mornings and evening social occasions which can include Christmas and summer parties, book clubs and events for the boys and their siblings. Form representatives change every two years. More information can be found on the Form Representative pages.
The Sub Committees have a single focus on a particular fund raising events and are not expected to attend LPA Committee meetings.
How do we get information to you?
LPA news is communicated through the following channels:
- Items in the schools Friday electronic newsletter
- Separate newsletters and fliers for special events
- The noticeboards by the school gates
- The LPA pages of the school website
How Can I help?
Any offers of help are always welcome. Please do click on the link to learn more.
Most parents volunteer during the duration of their sons’ time at Lanesborough, either as a Full or Sub-Committee member. To allow us to run these wonderful events and activities we rely entirely on parent volunteers, to which we are extremely grateful.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting the Chair or Vice Chair
