Year 1 Guildford Visit 2015
As part of their ‘Home and Away’ topic, Year 1 visited Guildford.
At Guildford Museum we created a map showing how Guildford has developed as a town over hundreds of years. We dressed up and pretended to be Victorian school children. We also enjoyed a walked up Guildford High Street through some wooden doors to Abbot’s Hospital. But the he highlight of the day was meeting Dr Cox at the Royal Grammar School! He showed us the oldest part of the school and the famous Chained Library. The books looked like the books from the Harry Potter stories! After passing the statue of George Abbot we made our way to Holy Trinity Church where we found George Abbot’s tomb. We had a fantastic day learning about our local area.
