Year 5 & 6 Trip to St. John's
Year 5 and 6 visit the Art department at St John’s
Year 6 Art scholars and some Year 5 Junior Artists were taken to St John’s to take part in a Composition workshop which involved them creating some collages and, in the dark room, some photograms.
Photograms require the use of an Enlarger, which is normally used for the printing of pictures from camera film, and photographic paper. The paper is placed underneath the enlarger, the boys created a collage using ‘bits and bobs’, the light in the enlarger was turned on for 10 seconds and then the images were developed. We had to put the paper into three different solutions: developer, stop-bath and fixer. It was fast, creative and fun and the boys enjoyed it all immensely.
We were very well looked after and were treated to tea at the end!
Well done boys!
