Year 4 Spelling Bee Competition

Year 4s entered a spelling competition.

The boys had to spell words aloud in the first round with no time restrictions. Lanesborough were ahead by a small margin at the halfway point, only spelling one word incorrectly out of 12. The second round was a speed round with the team having to select easy, medium or hard words. Our team selected the medium option, as did all the other teams except one. A confident selection of 15 words correctly spelt meant that we won by a strong 10 points. The boys each played a vital role and came away with medals. With words ranging from era to authentic, with necessary and conscious in the middle, even the adult audience was challenged! Well done to Tom Postance, Rhys Hopkins, Oscar de Gentile Williams, Christian Downey, Dominic Moore and Charlie Edwards - the spelling heroes.
