Updates from the LPA
The Summer Festival
This event turned out far better than we expected, given the dire weather predictions. The heavy rain held back until we had packed up and over 800 attendees were able to enjoy the day. This event is so good because of the help provided by parents, class reps and School staff. Thank you for making this yet another super Summer Festival. Some of the highlights include:
Silent Auction: this raised nearly £1700, with special thanks to local business and parents donating prizes, including Jane Black, Amy and Charlie Geoghegan, Helen Watson, Nicola Light, Becky Rathmell, Richard Ford and Julia Thomas.
Charity Raffle: over £1100 was raised for this event's charity, CRY. Well done to all of the year-groups for creating such lovely hampers.
Fun: a new Nerf-gun challenge stall, plenty of inflatables, paper-plane flight challenge, a karaoke, goodie-bags, tasty food....and more.
New parents: this is one of the first opportunities for parents with boys starting in September to meet the School community. Many of them tell us how great it is to see such an active and supportive parent / staff population.
The full financial outcome from the event will be included in next week's newsletter, as the 10ps are still being counted.
Thank you to Karen for organising this week's 2nd hand uniform sale, and for all those taking the time to help out. Well done.
We now have 3 kind volunteers to take on the (to be) vacant LPA Exec roles in the new academic year. We look forward to welcoming them at the AGM in September.
Class reps: what a super job our current class-reps have done over the last 1 - 2 years. None of the LPA events would have been possible without their amazing work. Thank you. For those now handing over to new class reps, please could you send their details (name, class, contact details) to Kirsty Smith before the end of this term.
