GCSE Success for Year 8 Boy
Daniel, a Year 8 boy, received his GCSE certificate in Astronomy.
Daniel started studying Astronomy as an extra-curricular activity at the start of Year 6. He thoroughly enjoyed finding out about our Universe and using a telescope to study the skies.
In the January of Year7 he decided to have a go at the GCSE so, under the expert tutelage of Mr Anslow, he began the two case studies and the course content. He worked hard at school and also in his own time. In May 2016, he ventured off to Winston Churchill School, Woking, to take the GCSE examination. He was the youngest by four years as the other students were Year 11s. After 2 hours the examination was over and relief was felt all round as the students discussed the questions that had come up on the paper.
After what seemed a very long wait, the results were released in August and Daniel was delighted to have been awarded not only a pass but a GCSE B grade. He fully deserved this excellent result as he worked hard for it. He then had a long wait for his certificate to arrive but eventually he had it in his hand.
Lanesborough School are very proud of Daniel’s fabulous academic achievement.
Well done, Daniel.
