Remote Learning Provision
With agility and speed, the whole Lanesborough community - parents, teachers, and boys - have responded in these unprecedented times to deliver superb remote learning.
Since Christmas, we have sustained a remote learning experience that has been rich in substance, detail, and fun. We have discovered new learning opportunities in partnership with one another. As a community we will emerge from lockdown amazed at how far we have come.
In the Early Years, boys engage with their teachers each day and all work is shared with parents in real time. In Years 1 & 2, a full timetable of activities and live teaching helps parents to balance their own schedules. From Years 3 to 6, our boys enjoy a full school day from 8.30 in the morning to 4pm. Due regard has been paid to the need for time away from screens, and teachers prioritise interaction. A new IT infrastructure interacts with an individual device programme to facilitate communication, deliver learning, and enhance the boys’ independence with safety built in. For us all, digital literacy advances daily as we explore new platforms and technologies.
What has been so impressive is just how dedicated and motivated the boys have been in every lesson. It is not just down to the teaching, design, and planning, but to the drive, enthusiasm, and perseverance that distinguishes the Lanesborough boy. It is a testament to them and their families.
It is wonderful to see what is going on, and always special when parents take their time to write. Here are just a few of the many, many warm messages we have received.
