Nursery: Characteristics of Effective Learning

We know that research indicates that play and exploration are key ways that children learn. The three characteristics of effective learning are; ‘Playing and Exploring’, Active Learning’ and ‘Creating and thinking Critically’. In our Nursery we motivate and challenge the boy’s thinking, with opportunities for them to explore, investigate and solve problems. There is plenty on offer to fire the imagination, with and without adult support.Effective learning can take many forms.  Here are some examples of boys showing effective learning in our Nursery class.
